Thank you for your continued support of Japan Blue Jeans.
Japan Blue Jeans creates a new value for Japanese denim by fusing the traditional craftsmanship of Kojima, Okayama, with cutting-edge technology.
On Friday, November 20, 2026, we will open Japan Blue Jeans SHIBUYA PARCO, our second store in Shibuya, as a new base for sharing the unique value of Japanese denim with people in Japan and around the world.
To celebrate the opening, we will host a custom workshop and offer limited-edition gifts in collaboration with DWS (Dirty Workers Studio Japan), an art collective known for its vividly colored marbling.
Store Concept
Arranged in perfect symmetry, the interior—from the entrance and the central fixture to the art wall by Hideki Kimura—is composed of elements that embody “tradition and innovation,” creating a special space where Japanese aesthetics and modern design coexist.
Both sides of the entrance are lined with wariguri-ishi (crushed stones) reminiscent of a Japanese garden, while seasonal flowers and branches displayed at the center reflect the changing seasons.
The stainless-steel fixture at the center of the store features wooden details on its drawers, inspired by the traditional Japanese chest of drawers (tansu), balancing a modern texture with the warmth of wood.
The art wall is created by painter Hideki Kimura. He has newly painted a lotus—a motif that has appeared throughout his work—and a green pheasant (kiji), the prefectural bird of Okayama, where the brand has its roots. Their vibrant energy comes to life at the heart of this composed, symmetrical space.
The moment you step in from the bustle of the city, stillness and the living presence of the seasons unfold around you. We invite you to enjoy a moment of quiet serenity in this special space.
*The art wall image shown is a preliminary rendering. As the artist paints live, drawing on the energy of the moment, the final design may differ. Thank you for your understanding.
Opening Collaboration with DWS
To celebrate the opening, we are collaborating with DWS (Dirty Workers Studio Japan), who reinterpret the traditional Japanese technique of suminagashi (ink marbling) into their own style, shikinagashi (color marbling).
1. Limited Custom Workshop (November 20–22)
For three days only, from Friday, November 20 to Sunday, November 22, we will hold a custom workshop for customers who purchase a pair of 5-pocket jeans.
In store, the paper patch—the brand label on the back of the waistband—is removed, and DWS dyes it on the spot using shikinagashi to create a one-of-a-kind color. A Japan Blue Jeans sewing artisan then stitches the patch back on, completing a custom pair of jeans unlike any other in the world.

About the Artists
Hideki Kimura
Born in 1942 in Izumiotsu, Osaka. After graduating from the design department of Kyoto City University of Arts, he taught there as a lecturer.
In the early days of Japanese rock, he produced numerous legendary events as an organizer. He began his career as a painter at the age of 60, and has since created more than 250 murals in Japan and abroad.
A life spent alongside rock music comes through in the vibrant energy of his work. Rather than facing a canvas in a studio, he chooses to paint on the “live” streets of the city—a singular painter who champions the ultimate in amateurism. His art books include Ikiru Mama, Muga Muchu, and LIVE.
