    4. To complete your purchase, enter your information including shipping address. Then click on "Next- Payment" to fill in your billing address and payment details. You can choose your preferred payment method and there is also an option to redeem your active reward points.

    We ship our products using world-class courier services such as FedEx and DHL.

  • How fast is the delivery?

    We strive to ship from our warehouse within 2 to 3 business days of receiving an order and it normally takes 2 to 3 days for an order to reach most East Asian countries and North America, and 4 to 7 days for other parts of the world.
    *If the order was placed over a weekend, it will be processed the next business day, so it may take 1-2 more days to reach you.

  • Do you offer express shipping?

    We do not offer the express shipping option at the moment.

  • Can I have my item delivered to a PO boxes or military addresses?

  • I received the tracking number today but why I can't see the status of my parcel?

    The couriers update tracking information normally within 24 hours in business days as they don't work on weekends or public holidays.

  • Does the price shown in the product page include tax?

    We ship on a DDP (Delivery Duty Paid) basis, which means that all custom duties are included in the product price. There may be instances in which additional taxes need to be paid. Any such additional taxes will be calculated according to your specific address and itemized at checkout.

  • Do I need to pay taxes and duties to the courier upon delivery?

    When a particular size/color of an item is out-of-stock, you can click on the size/color selector and "Notify Me" link will show up. Please enter your email address and then click "Submit". You will not receive any confirmation email upon submission but will receive a notification when the item is back in stock.

  • Can I purchase a product that is not listed at the global site?

REWARD POINTS

  • How can I earn reward points?

    - Register an account with us:
    - Always log in to your account before you place an order.
    - For every JPY100 spent, you will earn 1 point.
    - Points will be transferred to your balance 14 days after the order is shipped.
    - Points will expire in 180 days upon receiving.
    - Reward Points will not be earned for any costs charged separately at check-out, such as taxes, shipping etc.
    - We reserve the right to select which products are eligible for earning Reward Points.

  • How do I use reward points?

    - You can use Reward Points you have earned to shop as if it was cash. You can choose to spend however many Reward Points you want to use at checkout and only pay the remaining difference in your cart. We reserve the right to select which products are eligible for redemption of Reward Points.
    - When you spend Reward Points, you will see the equivalent monetary value of the Reward Points at check-out. The value of the Reward Points is based on Japanese Yen which is then converted to the currency you are checking out in, so the value may vary due to current exchange rates. For illustration purposes, if you have Reward Points equivalent to 10 USD and the total value of the products in your cart amounts to 100 USD, you can redeem up to 10 USD in Reward Points which will be deducted from the final amount at checkout. Reward Points cannot be applied to any costs charged separately at checkout, such as taxes, shipping etc.
    - Unless stated otherwise, Reward Points can be redeemed in conjunction with other payment methods such as credit cards.

  • Can I request early release of my reward points?

    Points for each eligible purchase will be transferred to your current balance 14 days after your order is shipped. We do not release points earlier than the return/exchange window.

  • What is the difference between African Cotton and American cotton?

    American cotton is woven harder and denser with an eye toward color fading. This allows the wearer to enjoy the color change as they wear it.
    African cotton is a mix of several types of cotton of African origin is soft and easy to wear. The natural texture of brown cotton is blended to create a vintage look and feel over time.
    If you want to enjoy aging in stiff jeans, please choose American cotton; if you want a lighter, more comfortable pair of jeans, choose African cotton.

  • What is "rope dyeing"?

    Rope dyeing is a method of dyeing yarns in bundles (ropes) of a certain number of threads. JBJ's denim are dyed with "rope dyeing" because that have good texture and aging.
    The most important thing of rope dying is that the core of the yarn is not dyed ("white core").
    This is controlled by using various dyeing techniques.
    "White core" is a very important point for aging and also used-washing, we can enjoy fading thanks to this!

  • What is "Union Special"?

    Union Special is the name of sewing machine. It is a American hemming machine that has been used since more than half a century ago.
    When we use Union Special to hem up jeans, the seams look like chains. That's why we call these stitch "chain stitch".
    It looks like a normal running stitch on the front side, but when you roll it up you can see chain stitch on the back side.
    If you wear the jeans hemmed up with these chain stitches for a long time, you can see beautiful "puckering"!

  • How much shrinkage should I expect on denim products?

    Unless otherwise specified, all of the denim products that you see on our site are made of sanforized denim and are in one-wash type. They won’t shrink after washing or soaking, but with regular wear, they may stretch slightly—about 1 to 2 cm (0.5 to 1 inch).

  • Why does this one-wash denim have a tag stating that it will shrink after washing?

    One-washed jeans typically do not shrink after washing. The note on the care label "it will shrink after washing" is included as a precaution against hot-water washing and dryer.

  • Do you have button-fly jeans?

    In JAPAN BLUE JEANS, all products are zipper fly jeans.

  • Is your hemming service complimentary?

    Yes! When you buy jeans from JAPAN BLUE JEANS, we will hem your jeans up with the Union Special for free!

  • How should I request hemming service for jeans?

    On each of the jeans product page, there will be an option to choose "Union Special Chainstitch Hemming". By clicking yes, you can enter the desired inseam length in cm after hemming into a comment box.
    When measuring your desired inseam length, please measure from the crotch seam along the left inseam to the hem.
    Please consider the shrinkage when deciding the inseam length of raw/non-wash denim. We cannot accept return or size exchange for hemmed items.

  • How long does it take for hemming service to be completed for my online order?

    Estimated dispatch date for hemming is 3-7 days after your order is placed with hemming request.

  • How long does it take for hemming service to be completed if I buy from your retail stores in Japan?

    Depending on how busy the store is, hemming will take approx. 20 minutes at the store. You can come back that day or the next day to pick them up.

  • I already own a pair of Japan Blue jeans in size 34. Should I choose the same size for another similar style that I want to buy?

    No. Each similar product have differences in cut and fit which affect the sizing. We recommend you to check the product size chart each time before purchasing.

  • How can I get my correct size for a pair of jeans? Do I choose a size for the jeans by measuring my own waist?

    No, you should not choose the jeans size based on your waist measurements. In order to get your correct size, please measure your best-fitted jeans as below first:

    1. Zip up or button up and measure around the full upper edge of waist band with 360 Method.
    2. Waist: Place the measure tape inside the waist of the jeans and use paper clips to secure the measure tape and the edge of waist band. This eliminates any gaps along the outside of the jeans and gives you a perfect waist measurement.
    3. Rise: Measure from the crotch seam to the top of the waist band along with the placket.
    4. Thigh: Measure around the fullest part of thigh from crotch seam to the outside of the seam.
    5. Hip: Measure parallel to thigh line from the zip ends to outside of the leg and multiply the number by 2.
    6. Inseam: Measure from the crotch seam along the left inseam to the hem.
    7. Compare measurement results to individual product size charts.

  • My height is about 172cm, and weight is about 72kg. How can I get my correct size for a jacket?

    You should not choose the jacket size based on your height and weight. In order to get your correct size, please measure your best-fitted jacket as below first:

    1. Button up and place your jacket on a flat surface.
    2. Shoulder: Place the jacket on the front side, measure straight across the shoulders from one shoulder seams (point) to the other.
    3. Chest: Flatten the jacket across the chest before measurement. Measure straight across the chest from seam to seam. Multiple the number by 2.
    4. Sleeve length: Pull sleeve out and straight, measure from one shoulder point (seam) to the end of cuff.
    5. Compare measurement results to individual product size charts and see which size will fit you most.

    No, measurements are based on averages taken from multiple pairs of the same size and style. As these garments are made by hand, measurements may vary slightly for each individual pair.   • Do I need to wash my jeans?

    We recommend washing the jeans regularly during use to ensure long use.
    Although some people believe “jeans shouldn’t be washed” on grounds that the color fades, unwashed clothes can become very unhygienic, which doesn't only apply to jeans. If jeans are left unwashed with sebum, sweat, and other stains accumulating, it may cause the fibers to stretch and the stains to oxidize, resulting in material degradation. Regular washing restores stretching, prevents oxidation, and prolongs the life of the jeans.

  • How to wash my jeans?

    1. Turn your jeans inside out
    Before washing your jeans, tighten all buttons and zippers, and turn them inside out.
    This prevents deforming as well as keeping the buttons and rivets from damaging the washing machine’s drum when washing.

    2. Add detergent and operate the washing machine
    Use our original detergent formulated for jeans or a mild liquid detergent without bleach or optical brighteners.
    Wash jeans separately from other garments, as the color may transfer or bleed.

    3. Gently spread any creases
    Jeans do not offer shape memory. Once you finish washing and remove from the washing machine, gently stretch any creases. Gently pull both ends horizontally and vertically to avoid deforming.

  • How should I dry my jeans?

    Always hang dry flat, and inside out. Don't place on a heat radiator, direct sunlight, use a dryer, or crumple when drying, as these will damage the fabric and ruin the fit, fade, contrast, and overall quality.

WARRANTY & REPAIR

  • Do you provide repairing service?

    Currently, we do not offer repair services to overseas customers if the damage is due to normal wear and tear.

RETURNS & EXCHANGES

  • What are your return & exchange policies?

    - All returned items should be in their new and original condition as you received them: with tags, unused, unwashed, unhemmed and unworn.
    - Within 14 days of receiving your order, email us at japanblue-jeans@lingble.com with a description of what you want to return and your order number, and we will get back to you with return instructions. Indicate on your invoice whether you are exchanging or returning the item(s).
    - All returns must be shipped to us with a tracking number and signature on delivery and must be received by us no later than 30 days from the date of purchase (barring any customs-related delays for returns).
    - All costs in relation to costs of returns/exchange shall be borne by you.
    - If your final purchase amount is below the free shipping threshold after returning a product, we will deduct the original shipping costs that would have been charged from the refund. However, if you choose to be refunded via reward points/a cash coupon, we won't deduct the original shipping costs.

  • Can I return a product that was bought during sale?

    No returns or exchanges for discounted items are accepted.

  • Do you accept late return/exchange?

    No late returns or exchanges will be accepted.

  • Do I have to bear the return/exchange shipping costs?

    Yes. You will be responsible for all costs in relation to returns/exchanges, including return shipping costs, duties and taxes. If you return via your chosen courier, please make sure you follow the return instruction on declaring the item value. Failure to do so will result in deduction from your refund if there are customs taxes and duties incurred.

  • What is the estimated return shipping costs? Is it close to the shipping fee quoted on the website when the order is below free-shipping threshold?
